Making a donation
You can make a secure online donation via PayPal
* The Government operates a scheme called Gift Aid that allows charities to claim 28p for every pound donated. So if you donate £100 to The HIV Support Centre, it means that you’ll actually be giving us £128. Giving under Gift Aid means that much more money can be raised with much less effort. Donate by Cheque If you would prefer to donate by cheque, please make your cheque payable to ’The HIV Support Centre’ and send it to: The HIV Support Centre, 3rd Floor, The Warehouse, 7 James Street South, Belfast BT2 8DN. Donations in Lieu Losing a loved one is one of the hardest experiences for any person. Leaving a donation in lieu of flowers will ensure that your gift will help to make a difference. Please send donations to the above address or if you would like to speak to someone regarding a donation in lieu of flowers please contact Maria on 028 9024 9268. Give As You Earn Make a donation directly from your salary. Please speak to your employer to see if your workplace supports this scheme. Gift Aid your Support When you make a donation, if you are a UK tax payer, please don’t forget to sign a Gift Aid Mandate. This means we can reclaim the tax through the government’s Gift Aid scheme which will make your donation go even further! For example, on a donation of £10 we can claim back a further £2.80p in tax and it doesn’t cost you any extra! Please return your completed Mandate with your donation. For further information and advice on making a donation please contact Michael Carchrie Campbell, Company Secretary on 028 9024 9268 or michael@thehivsupportcentre.org.uk

Regular giving
You can make a secure online regular monthly donation via PayPal
* The Government operates a scheme called Gift Aid that allows charities to claim 28p for every pound donated. So if you donate £100 to The HIV Support Centre, it means that you’ll actually be giving us £128. Giving under Gift Aid means that much more money can be raised with much less effort. Regular gifts enable us to plan our work in advance. By giving a small amount on a regular basis, you give us the confidence to commit to long-term projects, knowing that we will have the funds available to support them into the future. Your monthly donations may seem like a small amount but this form of ongoing support really is the most effective way of supporting The HIV Support Centre. In terms of benefits for you, the donor, giving on a regular basis allows you to budget your support. You are able to spread the cost over a long period, paying smaller amounts on a monthly basis, but still significantly contributing to the vital work of The HIV Support Centre. If you would like to speak to someone about regular giving please contact Michael by phone 028 9024 9268 or michael@thehivsupportcentre.org.uk

Volunteer with us
Volunteering at The HIV Support Centre
The HIV Support Centre was founded by volunteers and the work done by people offering their time, commitment and experience as volunteers continues to be vital to the charity. People volunteer to do all sorts of roles, from helping out for a few hours at a fundraising or information event to putting up posters in their local towns or cities. Some volunteers are involved in the Telephone Helpline service and others on the Management Committee. We train all our volunteers fully for the role that they choose, and we give them support and supervision to make sure that they are happy with the work that they are doing. People volunteer to help us for all sorts of reasons, which may include:
- giving something back, because they have received our help and now want to use their experience to help others
- gaining skills to help get them into a particular area of paid work or study
- meeting people
- trying something new
Applying to be a volunteer
The first step towards becoming a volunteer is to contact us here at the Centre. Just download an expression of interest form from the downloads section of this website and post it to us or give us a call on 028 9024 9268
