The HIV Support Centre celebrates World AIDS Day on Tuesday 1st December 2009 at the Council Offices, Palace Demesne, Armagh.
Supported by Armagh City and District Council and the Southern Education and Library Board, a group of 14-16 year olds from the Spring Youth Project will present their learning and understanding of HIV having attended training provided by The HIV Support Centre. (more…)
The HIV Support Centre celebrates World AIDS Day on Tuesday 1st December 2009 at The City Hotel, Derry.
In conjunction with Derry City Council and The Rainbow Project (Derry), the HIV Support Centre is running an event in the City Hotel, with attendees from different sectors of Northern Ireland life, including sports, churches, health, education, and local government to raise their awareness of HIV and the impact it has on their services. The People Living with HIV Stigma Index is a worldwide survey that will provide a tool to measure stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with HIV. In the initiative, the process is just as important as the product. It aims to empower participants while also addressing stigma relating to HIV.
The Centre is delighted to be able to offer a Service User residential from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September. We are currently developing a programme of activities and would welcome members’ suggestions.
Unfortunately we are constrained by budget so availability is limited. Places will be offered on a first come first served basis with priority being given to those members who have not had the chance to attend recent residentials. Saturday 1 August sees the culmination of Belfast Pride Festival with the nineteenth Pride Parade and the Party in the Square in Custom House Square. Like last year, The Centre is taking part in the Parade and will have a stall in the community area in the Square before and after the Parade. (more…)
Following on from the success of July’s meeting of the Women’s Group, where members had the chance to take part in a Creative Visualisation workshop, the next meeting is planned for Tuesday 1st September at 11am.
Following a coffee morning, our women members will have the chance to take part in an Art Therapy session at the Centre. (more…)
